In short
Tomorrow at about 6 a.m. we leave the Florida Keys for Cat Cay in the Bahamas, our first sailing passage as a family on SV Aphrodite. Crossing the Gulf Stream means pointing the boat well south, because the strong current pushes us north. We expect the trip to take about eight hours. The kids are very excited, and Rick and I are happy to start sailing again. It was one of the highs among some mixed feelings.
Tomorrow morning, we are leaving the Florida Keys for the Bahamas on our first sailing passage as a family. Crossing the Gulf Stream meant that we pointed our boat many miles further south as the great current pushed us northwards.
This will be our first passage on SV Aphrodite. The kids are very excited. Rick and I are happy to start sailing again.
We will leave at about 6 a.m. tomorrow. It will take us about 8 hours to reach Cat Cay, Bahamas.
